Informations
Founded in 1800, Debauve & Gallais traces its origins back to 1779, when Sulpice Debauve created the first "health chocolates" for Marie-Antoinette, who struggled with the bitterness of her medicinal remedies. By concealing medicine within chocolate, he invented the Queen’s Pistoles, bringing together utility and pleasure. Utile dulci - a phrase borrowed from Horace - became the House’s enduring motto, embodying its pursuit of chocolate that is both beneficial and delightful. From pistoles and rochers to scented ganaches and pralines, Debauve & Gallais has cultivated a unique heritage at the crossroads of history, luxury, and savoir-faire.
Saint-Lazare partnered with the House to reveal and elevate this exceptional legacy. Starting with the brand narrative, the studio developed a comprehensive visual and packaging system, established a new creative direction, and designed a refined digital experience that brings the richness of its story into the present day.
